Seclude Nahan, Bantony Cottage

Seclude Nahan, Bantony Cottage

The Royal family of Sirmur made Seclude Bantony Cottage, a jungle lodge hidden away in a private pine forest in Nahan, Himachal Pradesh. This establishment encourages visitors to re-establish their connection with nature and bring Sirmur’s rich history home with them. In 2018, Sirmur’s Maharaja and Maharani made the decision to construct this cottage as a natural retreat not far from their Sirmur Palace from the 17th century. Subsequently their daughter, the princess of Sirmur decided to convert this into a retreat for writers, birders, painters, yoga enthusiasts, heritage and nature lovers. The interior design is centered on the rich history of Nahan. The Black Magpie Café wall features charcoal sketches of authors, and the neighboring wall has book displays (lithographs of birds, cigarette cards from the 1800s, murals on the walls, pine cones nailed on the cupboard and the café wall). It’s a beautiful heritage property.
